Infrasafe Safety Policy Statement
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Working safely is a condition of our employment. It is a fundamental requirement of management that we ensure safety as far as is reasonably practicable.
Safety affects everything we do. Whatever our job we each have a constant duty to ensure that we do not harm our colleagues, customers, contractors or the general public, in other words anyone who is affected by our activities.
We must all do our best to create a climate in which we are always alert to risk and to ensure that proper safety measures are taken to control that risk. We must keep the health and safety of people in the forefront of all our minds and activities. We must also protect property and the environment in which we work.
The other Directors of Infrasafe Limited (Infrasafe) and I readily recognise and accept our health and safety responsibilities. We wish to state our policy and intentions as clearly as possible:
- To provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, general environment and systems of work for all our employees and contractors and anyone else affected by our activities
- To provide such information, instruction, training and supervision to enable our employees and contractors to carry out this policy
- To identify and assess the risks in the workplace and put in place effective measures to eliminate risks or reduce them to an acceptable level
- To provide the necessary commitment, resources and organisation to manage health and safety effectively
- To comply with all current legislation and standards and to monitor our performance against those standards
- To support the Railway Group Safety Plan and Network Rail’s safety policy and requirements
- To strive for continual safety improvement in all our activities and to set and monitor safety objectives that will ensure that improvement
- Most importantly the Directors aim to put the safety of employees, customers, contractors and the general public above any other considerations at all times. When there is a conflict of interest it is our responsibility to resolve that conflict by putting safety first. We support our staff in always putting safety first.
This Safety Policy Statement is supported by a safety organisation and general arrangements that lays out in more detail how the company is organised and manages health and safety. The Statement is reviewed on at least an annual basis and more frequently if circumstances require it.
